“During one of the breaks, I went into another room to copy some lead sheets. John entered this little room and walked over to the copy machine that I was using. Without a pause, he bent over and with his eyeglasses still on, put his face on the glass table of the photostat machine and hit the button. Two blinding lights later, a couple of the most amazing photostats of John’s smiling face, with a slightly flattened nose, came sliding out”
